How to create a killer tousled ponytail

Ponytails can be completely boring or totally hot! There is a reason we keep going back to this style. It is easy to create and works well for high end and casual looks. There is no way we are getting rid of this style, we are simply going to update this. I love a good tousled ponytail. It is dramatic yet classic. There are so many ways to finish this look so you can make it suit any outfit. To get the perfect textured ponytail, keep reading this step-by-step tutorial and #wearcliphair.

Step number 1:prepare your hair

Let’s get you some lush hair! I love this look so much but it doesn’t really work with short hair. You will need at least medium-length locks. Bush your hair so it is tangle-free. Pop in a full set of Cliphair extension to give you the length and volume you want. You are going to use heat on your hair so add some heat protecting serum to the end of your locks. I am all about height at the roots for this look so add some dry shampoo and gently tease your roots.

Step number 2: create your shape

Your shape and texture is the golden ticket with this style. You are going to use a blowdryer to create this style. A round brush is the best way to get the shape you want. It creates a much more natural curl than a curling wand and shapes the end of your hair. Make sure you curl away from your face. Now create a centre part. Use some texture spray for extra grit. If you feel like the middle section isn’t curly enough for you curl with a 1-inch curling wand. Create a low ponytail.

Step number 3: add some flare

Now you have created your shape it is time to make it a little special. Take out some face-framing strands to soften the look. Break up some of your curls with your fingers and finish by adding more texture spray. It is easy to add a little decoration to complete this look. Why not try a golden clasp. If you want something a little more classic try tying a velvet ribbon around your ponytail for the perfect finishing touch. Enjoy your ponytail perfection, wherever you decide to wear it.
